Pronunciation Guide
Pronounce 'ś' like the 'sh' in "shoe" and 'ṇ' and 'ḷ' with the tongue retroflexed against the roof of the mouth.
Long vowels (marked with a macron like ā, ī, ū) should be held for twice the duration of short vowels.
The retroflex 'ṭ' and 'ḍ' require curling the tongue tip back to touch the hard palate.
Read 'c' as 'ch' (as in "church") and double consonants (like 'tt' or 'll') with a slight emphasis.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಎಲೈ ಮನವೇ, ಮುಖ್ಯಪ್ರಾಣಿಯಾದ ಹನುಮಂತನನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಭಜಿಸು, ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಆತನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸು.

ರ್ಥ: ಸುಂದರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೋಮಲವಾದ ಶರೀರವನ್ನುಳ್ಳವನೇ, ದೇವನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವವನೇ, ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಸಿಂಹದಂತಿರುವವನೇ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಲ್ಲಿ (ಮುಖ್ಯಪ್ರಾಣ) ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದವನೇ ಆದ ಹನುಮಂತನನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸು.

ರ್ಥ: ಮೂರ್ಖರಾದ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರ (ನಿಶಾಚರರ) ಅಶೋಕ ವನವನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿದವನೇ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀತಾದೇವಿಯ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿದವನೇ ಆದ ಹನುಮಂತನನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸು.

ಪರಮಾನಂದ ಗುಣೋದಯ ಚರಿತಂ
ಕರುಣಾರಸ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣಸುಭರಿತಂ||3||
ರ್ಥ: ಪರಮಾನಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸದ್ಗುಣಗಳ ಗಣಿಯಾದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನುಳ್ಳವನೇ, ಕರುಣಾರಸದಿಂದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತುಂಬಿರುವವನೇ ಆದ ಹನುಮಂತನನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸು.

ರ್ಥ: ದೇವದೇವನಾದ ರಂಗನ ರಂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲೀನನಾದವನೇ, ಸದ್ಗುಣ ಗಂಭೀರನೇ ಮತ್ತು ದಾನವ ಹಾಗೂ ದೈತ್ಯರೆಂಬ ಅಡವಿಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಯಲು ಕೊಡಲಿಯಂತಿರುವವನೇ (ಕುಠಾರ) ಆದ ಹನುಮಂತನನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸು.

ರ್ಥ: ಗುರು ಚೆನ್ನಕೇಶವ ಹಾಗೂ ಕದಳೀ ರಂಗನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನೇ, ಸದ್ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ಆಧಾರನಾದ ಮುಖ್ಯಪ್ರಾಣ ದೇವರನ್ನು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಭಜಿಸು.

Summary (English)
In this devotional composition by Sri Kanaka Dasa, the saint earnestly exhorts the mind to constantly worship and chant the glories of Lord Hanuman (Mukhya Prana). Praising Hanuman's tender form, His lion-like courage in granting joy to devotees, His destruction of the demon groves in Lanka, His comforting solace to Sita Devi, and His supreme devotion to Lord Sri Hari, the hymn invokes the blessings of the chief of pranas.

Meaning: O mind, worship Maruti (Hanuman); constantly chant and meditate upon Hanuman!
Stanza 1
Kōmala kāyaṁ, nāmasudevaṁ
bhajasukha siṁhaṁ, bhūsura śrēṣṭhaṁ||1||
Meaning: Worship Hanuman, who possesses a tender form, who delights in the Lord's name, who is a lion of bliss to devotees, and who is supreme among the wise!
Stanza 2
Mūrkha niśāchara vanasaṁhāraṁ
sītā duḥkhavināśana kāraṁ||2||
Meaning: Worship Hanuman, who destroyed the groves of foolish nocturnal demons and acted as the dispeller of Sita Devi's sorrow!
Stanza 3
Paramānanda guṇōdaya charitaṁ
karuṇārasa sampūrṇasubharitaṁ||3||
Meaning: Worship Hanuman, whose life is a treasure trove of supreme bliss and noble virtues, and who overflows completely with the essence of compassion!

Raṅga raṅga guṇa gaṁbhīraṁ
dānava daityāraṇya kuṭhāraṁ||4||
Meaning: Worship Hanuman, who is deep in divine virtues, and who acts like an axe (kuthara) uprooting the forest of wicked demons and asuras!

Meaning: Worship Mukhya Prana, the beloved of Guru Chennakesava and Kadali Ranga, who is the steadfast guardian of true devotees!
